I know I’m not supposed to “play favorites” with the coloring books I draw, but well, this one might be my favorite!
When I was a little kid, all I wanted to do was draw. Seriously, that’s it (well roller skating came in at a close second).
And I loved drawing girls! It was almost like I was populating my life with the girls I wanted to be friends with, or the girl I wanted to be—braver, cooler, smarter, and more athletic.
So while I worked on becoming those things (except the cool and athletic part), I was able to draw them so they might magically come true.
I drew this book for that exact little girl. The kid who doesn’t always feel powerful, or courageous, or accepted. I want them to know that I think they are and they will see it for themselves some day.
